Mark Davies in Spanish Frequency Dictionary said the 50 most common words in Spanish make up 60% of the language and the top 1,000 words make up 85% of the language. In Spanish III/IV we work to learn the 300-400 most common words in Spanish.
In level three and four grammatical accuracy is important when communicating. Grammatical errors are a part of aquiring language and are evaluated at this level of learning.
